I visited the Royal Oak in Roxton for a birthday party.
The place was bigger than I expected as the current tenant had described the place as small, warm and cosy with bags of potential. She was right when you walk into the Royal Oak at Roxton, you are greeted with warmth and an ambience of a family home.
We really enjoyed the evening, and will definitely be visiting again.
I am looking forward to future events as the tenants really know how to have a good time. Guaranteed you will not be disappointed.

Hi I'm Maxcene the new tenant at the Royal Oak in Roxton Bedfordshire.
I took over the tenancy of this pub back in December 2008, and have not looked back since.
Someone asked me why The Royal Oak? well when I first visited I stood in the garden, closed my eyes and envisioned children playing, parents milling around outside with drinks 'cause we're full inside'; the sound of lots of laughter as our visitors share their stories, catch up with friends and family; fun days; and events; the secret garden, calm and tranquil.
I opened my eyes and said to myself this place has huge potential to become what it used to be; the focal point of a community, a place where families enjoy good simple food, good drink and entertainment 'a home from home'.
The Royal Oak in Roxton dates back as far as 1925, some villagers I have had the pleasure of meeting remember what it was like back then!!.. many tenants have come and gone but one thing has remained constant 'this character building'.
For us, it's not the building that gives a pub it's life it's the people who visit and share their experiences with us or just come along, sit and be.
The Royal Oak will be standing long after we have gone and our children are grown, let's hope our children's children can enjoy it's simple pleasure as we are now and others will again.
